As the official Financing for Development Constituency of the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY),
we represent, advocate, and defend youth and children voices across the UN and beyond.

About Us

The Financing for Development Youth Constituency is the central stakeholder mechanism to engage individual youth and children, youth-led organizations, and youth-focused organizations with the international financial architecture across the UN System and beyond.

As a official constituency of the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), we represent and engage children and youth inputs to the Financing for Development (FfD) preparatory processes (including the annual FfD Forum, and the FfD Conferences) the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation, processes of the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), Bretton Woods Institutions, Development Cooperation Forum, annual review of SDG17 at the HLPF and nexus issues of financing across all UN pillars: sustainable development (social, environmental and economic), human rights, resilience and humanitarian affairs and peace and security.

Any individual and any organization with a membership to the Major Group on Children and Youth are eligible to contribute to the Constituency. Membership is free and open for all individuals under the age of 30, and is available at the website of MGCY.

Global Children & Youth Conference

Convened by the FfD Children and Youth Constituency with a host of partners, this one-day Global Youth-led Conference on Financing for Development, held immediately before FfD4 on June 29 amplifies youth voices around the FfD process, further strengthening a long-term movement of young advocates capable of holding decision-makers accountable and shaping an intergenerationally fair financial future.

The conference will feature high level panels, sessions on the future of multilateralism, intergenerational dialogue, empowering participants to share their youth-led policy positions, and defining policy tasks.  Recognising the challenging barriers young people face to their in-person participation, the conference will be hosted with hybrid modalities. This way youth from around the world can join online and have their voices heard.
